Sclerotherapy

To close the little varicose veins and the visible capillaries on the legs, once the presence of insufficient surface or deep veins has been excluded, it is possible to use sclerotherapy.

The procedure is ambulatory and consists in intravasal injections, through very subtle needles with pharmacologic substances that are able to induct an immediate inflamatory reaction of the surface of the vessel which is then followed by the obliteration and closing; usually it takes 15 to 20 minutes and we repeat them in at an interval of 15-20 days.Once the treatment is completed we apply compressive bandaging for the following 24 hours.

The collateral effects are represented by small ecchimosis and ematomas more or less trascurable. Allergic reactions and alterations of the skin color are also rare. In any case, we suggest to proceed with the treatment in the colder seasons when the skin is not exposed to sunlight.
